Is the decimal system appropriate for modern mathematics?

Naomi Wray, in an extended project qualification from 1201/1202, has written a brief but excellent examination of number bases in modern mathematics. Attractively designed and wellcomposed, the article examines the rise of decimal and its disadvantages, along with the advantages of the dozenal base. It relies in several places on our DSA publications (even citing a dozenal limerick from the DSA Newscast 3:10!). An entertaining and enlightening read.
